MarieFaith Lane is multifaceted violinist, educator, and communicator with a passion for teaching, research, and collaboration. As a versatile performer, she has led orchestras and collaborated with emerging artists across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Recent highlights include receiving the prestigious Dairy Arts Center’s 30 Under 30 Award, serving as a Performer Fellow with the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music and, working as a Teaching Artist with the Colorado Lullaby Project—an initiative originating in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute—where she worked with pregnant women and new parents in the community to create personalized lullabies for their babies.
Committed to education, Lane is dedicated to leveraging music as a vehicle for change—an advocate for accessible, high-quality music education for all students. She has taught across the United States and has presented research on the intersections of pedagogy, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and psychology at various conferences, including the National American String Teachers Association Conference (ASTA), International Research Symposium on Talent Education, and the Tennessee Music Education Association.
Lane co-authored an article published in the String Research Journal with Vanderbilt University Professor Zachary Ebin entitled, “Does the Bow Fit: Using Anthropometry and Grip Strength to Assess Fractional-Size Violin Bows,” exploring the use of anthropometric and grip strength measurements to design better-suited fractional-size violin bows for children.
Lane holds an Artist Diploma in Solo Violin Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied under the mentorship of Alex Gonzalez and served as his Graduate Teaching Assistant. She also earned a master’s degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from CU Boulder, studying with Takács Quartet violinists Harumi Rhodes and Edward Dusinberre, and holds bachelor’s degrees in Violin Performance and Medicine, Health, and Society, with a concentration in Health Behaviors and Health Sciences from Vanderbilt University, graduating cum laude.
Beyond her musical pursuits, Lane serves as the Communications Manager at the CU Boulder College of Music, where she deepens community engagement through storytelling and connection. A proud Colorado native, she is delighted to call Boulder her home, where she enjoys sharing music, practicing yoga, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering with various organizations.
MarieFaith Lane is a 2024-2025 Fellowship Artist at Boulder Bach Festival. In this capacity she receives coaching, audition/competition/recording preparation, lessons/studies in 17th Century Italian repertoire in addition to Bach studies with guest artists and members of BBF's CORE ensemble, and performs in the season finale concert. Additional research and teaching projects will occur in 2025, and her program notes are published in BBF's 44th season program book.
