Molly was born and raised in Durban, South Africa, where she was an amateur musician and studied Physics and Mathematics at the University of Natal. She and her husband moved to the United States in 1981 and to Boulder in 1983. She joined the board of the Boulder Bach Festival more than 10 years ago and sings in the chorus. Additionally she plays the piano and cello when not working at her day job as a Senior Associate Scientist at the University of Colorado. Her most prized musical possession is a 1905 Bluthner grand piano that belonged to her grandmother who studied in Dresden at the turn of the last century with a teacher who had been a pupil of Franz Liszt. She lives in rural Boulder County near Lyons with her husband of 37 years where they grow as many vegetables as possible during the summer. She has 2 grown children, both also amateur musicians.
