Richard Van Pelt

As a child I tootled the flute and the music was simply bland. Later I played the piccolo in the Stanford Band at the Rose Bowl. While on a ship in the Navy I went to the next smaller instrument, a harmonica, and finally reverted to my own voice, singing with the Bach Festival and other groups at the urging of my alto wife.

I have taken a few turns at board membership in music groups, and give great credit to the amateurs and professionals whose monetary, organizational and musical contributions so enhance all our lives.
