Tal McGee

Tal McGee, violist, is from Spring, Texas. He is currently studying at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City with Patinka Kopec. Tal has served as principal violist for the Sewanee Summer Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Orchestra, Houston Youth Symphony, and the Manhattan School of Music Philharmonia Orchestra,. He also received the designation as a Houston Young Artist’s Concert Artist for 2013-14. Previous teachers have included Sheldon Person and Zachary Carrettin.
As a chamber musician, Tal has been coached by Lawrence Dutton of the Emerson String Quartet, Nicholas Mann of the Mendelssohn String Quartet, the Muir String Quartet, Michael Zaretsky and Michel LaCourse. Tal has attended such summer study programs as the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the National Arts Centre Young Artists Program.
